General Attitudes

German Au Pairs are known to be hard working and punctual. They are also very used to travel.

Education

In Germany, education is very important. English and other languages are taught in schools at a very young age. Over 70 percent of our available German Au Pairs are ranked at least a 4-out-of-5 in their English speaking skills.

"Svenja and our previous German Au Pairs have assimilated easily into our home. Our experience has been that the quality of German Au Pair’s spoken English has been good to near fluent making communication easier." - Host Mom

Diet

Lunch is the most important meal of the day in Germany and it is usually eaten around noon. Dinner is usually a lighter and smaller meal. Although sausages, sauerkraut and beer are common, other traditional meals include Spätzle (Egg noodles) and Kartoffelsalat (potato salad).

"The biggest cultural difference we have encountered with [our Au Pair] and our other German Au Pairs is food differences. These are easily overcome." - Host Mom

In honor of our featured country, families who match with a German Au Pair in May will receive $100 off the program fees
