During the interview process, Au Pairs will ask you questions and answering these questions as fully as possible will help you make a great match. Some common questions that you should expect to hear are:
- What do your children like to do? Au Pairs will want to know the interests of the children they will be caring for.
- What kind of hours will I work? We understand that families are not always going to have the same schedule each week, but let the Au Pairs know some of the basics of your family’s schedule.
- What kind of cleaning will I need to do? Just like you would never accept a job without knowing the details, Au Pairs are going to want to know exactly what you will require. This is a great opportunity for you to review your expectations..
You will want to have at least 2 phone calls with an Au Pair before matching. Schedule a time with the Au Pair to call again while you are still on the first phone call. If possible, set the time for 2-3 days out so you can send your application to the Au Pair and allow her some time to come up with some questions for you.
