My name is Ingrid, and I’m a Local Area Representative at Go Au Pair in the San Jose, California area. I have been a LAR since March, 2019. My passions include babies, tea, languages, travel, and theater (musicals especially). I love walking, dancing, rain, and happy, bright colors. I am a practitioner of Kaiut Yoga and lover of Zumba. I believe we are in a golden age of television and enjoy watching good TV and movies alone and with loved ones. Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday (you can catch me starting to decorate on November 1, sometimes before!). There is little in this world that I enjoy more than a good cup of tea.
My favorite thing about being a LAR
As a LAR, I love getting to know the Host Families and Au Pairs, participating in cultural activities with Au Pairs, and interacting with my cluster on Facebook.
Why I love my job
I love children (babies especially), traveling, languages, and learning about other cultures. Though I was never an Au Pair myself, I have lots of firsthand experience in formal and informal childcare and childhood education, and I have had the good fortune to travel quite a bit. I love meeting new people, being a host, connecting people with one another, and organizing social events, so being a LAR brings together many of my favorite things!
