The areas I serve in California
I cover a majority of the South Bay, parts of the East Bay, and the Monterey area within the San Francisco Bay Area. Major towns I cover are San Jose, Los Gatos, Newark, Fremont, Mt. View, Sunnyvale, Milpitas, and Santa Cruz.
My name is Gabee Deleo and I am the Interim Local Area Representative for San Jose, CA and Local Area Representative for Seattle, WA. I’ve been with Go Au Pair since July 2025. Previously I worked as a Health and Wellness Coach. I absolutely love living by the ocean and exploring nature with my 2 dogs!
I love the Au Pair program because it allows me to connect with people from all walks of life and learn about different cultures. The flexibility and independence of the Local Area Representative role make it easy to truly enjoy these connections—without it ever feeling like work!

Additional Resources for Families and Au Pairs in San Jose, CA
California does not recognize International Driving Permits as valid licenses. Once an Au Pair becomes a California resident, they are expected to obtain a California driver’s license and complete the required application, written knowledge test, and driving test. The best approach is to apply for a California license soon after arrival to avoid insurance or citation issues and ensure full driving privileges.
In the San Jose area, public transportation exists but most families still rely heavily on driving. The main system is VTA buses and light rail, which run throughout Santa Clara County and connect to regional options like Caltrain and BART for longer trips. Service is usable—especially near light rail lines—but routes can be spread out and travel times are often longer than driving, so many Au Pairs combine transit with biking, rideshare, or host family support. Overall, Au Pairs can get around without a car in some neighborhoods, but having driving access makes daily life in the South Bay much easier.
