My favorite thing about being a LAR
As a LAR, I love the role of meeting people from children to young adults, and I enjoy learning about many cultures as well as families that welcome au pairs. I like to be a helpful person. I hope to communicate with caring to au pairs and host families and I look forward to meeting new people and sharing my enthusiasm for others as needed.
Why I love my job
I have a passion for the outdoor activities such as hiking and gardening, spending time with animals, cultural experiences in art, music and performances, and I love to have tea parties for others. I get great satisfaction from caring for others. In my spare time, I like to bake and share the treats prepared, as I spend time with elderly friends and anyone that crosses my path that is in need. I also enjoy teaching children at church and anyone who wants to learn through reading and learning about science and the social studies. I am thankful for the opportunity to see and hear the beauty of the earth, the joy to share with others, and the hope that faith brings.
My name is Patti Reese, and I’m a Local Area Representative at Go Au Pair in the Lexington, Kentucky area. I have worked in the school systems as a speech therapist and elementary and middle school counselor throughout my career. In retirement I presently work as an instructor for adult education. I became a LAR when my daughter had a neighbor that wanted to have an au pair, because I am a helping person I agreed to learn a new role. I have been a LAR since 2012.
