“Not an Au Pair, a New Member of Our Family”

/“Not an Au Pair, a New Member of Our Family”

We don't have an au pair, we have a new family memberOur family is not really eligible for this contest. We do not have an Au Pair, we have a new member of our family.

Nancy Viviana has been a part of our family since April and from the first day we interviewed her we knew she was the perfect candidate for us. Nancy cares for our two girls and they could not love her more. She has mastered the way to both show the girls kindness and yet be stern with them when needed. She is their big sister, guiding them through the ups and downs of the day and teaching them what it means to be strong women, a quality we could not be happier about.

It is never easy to trust your most precious gifts to the world with someone other than yourself.

But we were never fearful with Nancy. Nancy carries herself with such poise that we always knew that she would never be rattled no matter how hard a situation came her way.

One hurdle that Nancy did have to climb was her ability to drive. She came here with little experience and in Minnesota you have to be ready for anything on the roads, especially in winter. Nancy took it upon herself to practice and get better. She woke up early, some days before 5:00 am, to go out and drive. All knowing that she still had a full day with a baby ahead of her. Then, even after failing to pass the driving exam, she got right back out there and drove some more. There was never a doubt in our minds that Nancy was going to beat this task just as she has every other.

Everything that Nancy does allows Jill and I to focus our time with our family. There are so many small things that Nancy does that mean the world to us. Getting our oldest ready for school in the morning, washing our bottles, folding the kid’s clothes, the list is endless. Every small task that she helps with gives us that much more time to focus on our family.

Having Nancy in our family has helped us focus on what matters the most.

We wanted to show Nancy around the area so we have been taking trips to local sites as a family, including Nancy, and these trips have been so much fun for all of us. Apple picking in the fall and baseball games in the summer are just a few of the things we have enjoyed together.

We came into this hoping to find a person to help with our two girls and we have been blessed with adding another daughter to our home. We could not be happier with our experience. Who could have imagined that what started as a search for an alternative to daycare would lead to us gaining not only a new family member but also an extended family down in Paraguay? For all these reasons Nancy Viviana is not just an Au Pair but so much more to us, and we love her for it!

Our families agree… Au Pair child care is the best! Register for free today and start browsing Au Pair profiles.

“After years of stress and frustration, and many different nannies, we decided to look for an au pair. When Veronika arrived on January 2, 2016 our lives were forever changed. We had no idea that a real life Mary Poppins had just arrived!”

Carrie • Host Mom, Au Pair in Excellence Runner-up

“I can honestly say that bringing her to live with us as our au pair has been the best decision we could possibly have made. She has afforded us so many priceless “intangibles” during her time here that I can’t begin to quantify her contributions to our family.”

Jennifer • Host Mom
