At first I didn’t know if this program would be legit being away from home in a foreign country just by myself? GoAuPair would encourage me and help me through out each step of the way! I have the best communication with my agency back home on starting and still we still communicate! I enjoy this experience too because you don’t come here to just exchange culture but you as a person starts to grow! Since being away from family kinda helps you build yourself and your character! I’ve made friends both au pairs and local which is super cool. You get to see places and see the beauty of the U.S and experience a whole different side of culture here. My year as an Au Pair in the United States gave me the opportunity to grow so much both personally and professionally. I was lucky to become part of a wonderful host family, create a very special bond with my host child, improve my English, travel, experience new cultures, and become more independent and confident.
Go Au Pair supported me throughout the process, from preparing for my program to completing my requirements at the end of my year. Being an Au Pair was much more than just living in another country; it was a cultural exchange that gave me memories, friendships, and experiences that I will always carry with me.
I am very grateful for everything I experienced during this year and for the opportunity to be part of the Go Au Pair program. I feel very fortunate for my personal experience with Go Au Pair. I've had a wonderful time with my host family, and everything has gone so well that I am now in my second year with them. After completing the Au Pair program, my life changed completely. I spent two great years as an Au Pair, was fortunate to have two very kind host families, visited several states, met many people, greatly improved my English, grew as a person, and, above all, created important bonds here in the United States. The agency was attentive, responding to my messages and questions when I needed guidance. My LAR, Tina, was especially attentive, always checking in on how things were going with my host family. I’m very grateful to Go Au Pair for this amazing experience! From the very beginning, the agency has been supportive, professional, and always ready to help. They made the whole process smooth and stress-free. I was very lucky to match with an amazing host family, and thanks to them and the program I was able to travel to many of my dream cities and places in the U.S which broadened my perspective and enriched my cultural understanding. This year gave me a chance to grow, explore and learn new things about myself and I can't wait to see what my second year awaits me.

One piece of advice I have for future Au Pairs is during the interview process be prepared, have a list of questions and things you can/cannot budge on and stick to them. Be honest and have open communication from the start and you'll find your perfect host family.

Nous vous encourageons à choisir une famille d’accueil en fonction du mode de vie, des loisirs et d’autres intérêts similaires aux vôtres. La famille que vous rejoignez est plus importante que sa localisation. Il est important de se rappeler que plus vous êtes flexible dans le choix de votre localisation, plus vous pourrez rapidement être jumelé avec une famille d’accueil.

Les Au Pairs peuvent-ils rester plus d'un an ?

Oui, le département d’État américain autorise les Au Pairs à rester 6, 9 ou 12 mois supplémentaires après leur première année. Certaines conditions s’appliquent. Contactez Go Au Pair pour en savoir plus.

Si j'ai beaucoup d'expérience, puis-je gagner plus d'argent ?

Oui, nos programmes Au Pair Plus et Premiere Au Pair sont conçus pour les Au Pairs ayant plus d’expérience. Selon vos qualifications et votre expérience, vous pourrez peut-être vous inscrire à plusieurs programmes pour augmenter vos chances de jumelage.

Serai-je accepté dans le programme si ma seule expérience est le baby-sitting ?

Plus vous avez d’expérience, plus vous serez attractif en tant que candidat Au Pair. Les familles d’accueil recherchent toujours un Au Pair expérimenté. Cependant, il existe d’autres qualités importantes pour le placement telles que la maturité, le sens des responsabilités, l’intérêt pour l’échange culturel et un véritable désir de s’occuper d’enfants.

Les Au Pairs peuvent-ils voyager à l'international ?

Oui, pendant les 12 premiers mois du programme Au Pair, vous êtes libre de voyager à l’international. Cependant, il est de votre responsabilité de vous assurer que vous avez le visa approprié pour le pays que vous visitez. Certaines étapes doivent être suivies pour garantir un voyage international réussi et nous exigeons que vous contactiez votre représentant de zone locale et Go Au Pair avant votre voyage.
