Married for over 30 years, we were high school sweethearts and have three beautiful daughters and an Australian Shepherd dog. We have been Lake Orion residents for over 20 years.
Eric attended Central Michigan University, earning his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. In his day job he is a Quality Manager at a plastics company. Teresa attended Wayne State University, earning her Masters Degree in Elementary Education. She is a 2nd Grade Teacher with Lake Orion schools.
Our current Metro Detroit Au Pairs are from China Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Mexico and South Africa – covering 4 different continents!. Our Michigan Host Families have infants all the way up to teenagers and work in a number professions – healthcare, sales, legal, automotive, government.
Au Pair Cultural Activities
Au Pairs are required to attend a number of Cultural Activities with their Local Area Representative and nearby Au Pairs to make sure they experience the local community and culture during their stay. Below are some of the activities the Naylors’ cluster has been up to recently!
Discover Michigan 1st time Skiers Program, which includes equipment rental, an hour lesson and all-day beginners lift ticket.
The “Rollercoast” of America on the shores of Lake Erie has more thrill rides (71) than any other park in the world.
One of the best kayak trips in the Mid-west on Lake Huron, the world’s 3rd largest fresh water lake!. The trip consists of a 7 mile out-and-back trip via shallow coastal waters which allow you to get out and enjoy the area as well as snap a few photos.

Child Friendly Activities for Au Pairs and Host Families
Au Pairs will find that Detroit offers a wide variety of exciting things to do and places to visit. There are many historical museums, art displays, scenic touring, and physical activities. Families can help Au Pairs find activities they are most interested in.
Tucked into opposite sides of Great Lakes Crossing Outlets, both destinations are jam-packed with interactive play zones and sites for kids, from sea animals to a 4-D cinema.
Spread over 125 acres, the zoo is where young eyes will see everything from black bears to polar bears. The newest exhibit, the Polk Penguin Conservation Center, features 80 penguins that swim all around you, including above you as you walk through a clear tunnel.
