We cover all of Metro Detroit and most of Southeast Michigan.

Married for over 30 years, we were high school sweethearts and have three beautiful daughters and an Australian Shepherd dog. We have been Lake Orion residents for over 20 years.

Eric attended Central Michigan University, earning his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.  In his day job he is a Quality Manager at a plastics company. Teresa attended Wayne State University, earning her Masters Degree in Elementary Education. She is a 2nd Grade Teacher with Lake Orion schools.

I love the Au Pair program! I enjoy working with all the Host Families and Au Pairs, helping to create a wonderful experience for them throughout their year! I’ve seen what a big impact the program has on the Host Parents, children and Au Pairs and I love being a part of that!

Our current Metro Detroit Au Pairs are from China Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Mexico and South Africa – covering 4 different continents!. Our Michigan Host Families have infants all the way up to teenagers and work in a number professions – healthcare, sales, legal, automotive, government.

Au Pairs are required to attend a number of Cultural Activities with their Local Area Representative and nearby Au Pairs to make sure they experience the local community and culture during their stay. Below are some of the activities the Naylors’ cluster has been up to recently!

au pairs from detroit cluster at turnip rock One of the best kayak trips in the Mid-west on Lake Huron, the world’s 3rd largest fresh water lake!. The trip consists of a 7 mile out-and-back trip via shallow coastal waters which allow you to get out and enjoy the area as well as snap a few photos.

Au Pairs will need to have their International Driver’s License in order to take a written test. If they pass that then they need to schedule a Road Test with a 3rd party company, which they will have to pull into a parking spot, back into a spot and also parallel park. If they pass the parking then they take a road test on surface streets first and then on the expressway.

au pair social security card informationAn Au Pair will need to get a Social Security # before getting a bank account and driver’s license. Go Au Pair will provide a welcome packet with social security information, on the Au Pairs arrival. We advise Au Pairs to wait 10 days after arrival to get their social security number. You can make an appointment at a social security office, closest to your home.

Child-Friendly Activities for Au Pairs and Host Families

Au Pairs will find that Detroit offers a wide variety of exciting things to do and places to visit. There are many historical museums, art displays, scenic touring, and physical activities. Families can help Au Pairs find activities they are most interested in.

Tucked into opposite sides of Great Lakes Crossing Outlets, both destinations are jam-packed with interactive play zones and sites for kids, from sea animals to a 4-D cinema.

Spread over 125 acres, the zoo is where young eyes will see everything from black bears to polar bears. The newest exhibit, the Polk Penguin Conservation Center, features 80 penguins that swim all around you, including above you as you walk through a clear tunnel.

Greenfield Village is the 90-acre outdoor living history museum at the Henry Ford complex.There are over 80 preserved historical buildings from the 17th century to the present that you can visit.

The largest splash pad in Michigan features 5,500 square feet of water play including 50-plus play features, including a 2,400-square-foot climbable structure, splash bucket that dumps 55 gallons of water and four waterslides.

This children’s education concept center features sustainable S.T.E.A.M.-focused toys and rotates stations so there are new activities for your kids to enjoy all the time, ensuring they never get bored! Recommended for ages 10 and under.
