The areas I serve in Colorado
The cluster includes the whole Front Range. We have Host Families from Louisville to Colorado Springs, Aurora to Morrison just outside of Red Rocks.
Currently our 20 Host Families reside in Arvada, Aurora, Castle Pines, Castle Rock, Centennial, Colorado Springs (northern), Commerce City, Denver, Englewood, Lafayette, Lakewood, Littleton, Louisville and Morrison.
My name is Tina Mercer and I am the Local Success Coach for the Denver area cluster of Go Au Pair. After living in Buenos Aires for a year, I moved to Denver to complete a Masters in Social Work. During my time abroad I appreciated the need for connection to a local support system and peers. My role as the Local Success Coach provides me with the opportunity to share my love for Colorado, while connecting people from all over the world. I have now been in Colorado for twenty years and raise two young boys to love all things outdoors CO and, of course, international travel.
Our Host Families in the Denver cluster is comprised of professionals in healthcare, accounting, marketing, real estate, sales, finance, legal, and IT. The families generally have one to four children, from infants to early teens.
Our Au Pairs are attracted to all that Colorado has to offer and they come from South and Central America, as well as South Africa, and Madagascar. We are lucky to have such a diverse group and it is a joy to connect the Au Pairs to families who have a similar vision of diplomacy.
Au Pair Cultural Activities
Au Pairs are required to attend a number of Cultural Activities with their Local Area Representative and nearby Au Pairs to make sure they experience the local community and culture during their stay. Below are some of the activities Tina’s cluster has been up to recently!
We met at the Denver Zoo to see the adorable new baby giraffe—it was such a fun and memorable experience to share together.
We came together to take part in the tradition of pumpkin carving, and the Au Pairs had a great time experiencing it for the first time.

Additional Resources for Families and Au Pairs in Denver
Driving can be part of your Au Pair’s responsibilities. If this is the case, the Host Families need to check with their car insurance agency for their rules for adding an Au Pair to the insurance. And, the Au Pair will need to get a driver’s license from the nearest Colorado (CO) DMV office.
Au Pairs can learn about inexpensive solutions to travel around town. Rail-Denver-RTD, Uber, Lyft, Taxis and shuttles are also available.
Au Pairs need to complete 6 credits/72 classroom hours while they are here in Colorado. Most of our Au Pairs take Continuing Education Courses from the Community College of Denver or Arapahoe Community College. These two Colleges offer a wide range of different classes for them to take and all different days and times.

We also have a few language schools that many of our Au Pairs like to attend. Our Colorado Au Pairs attend Spring Institute for Intercultural Learning and Colorado School of English, both in the downtown Denver area.
Home
An Au Pair will need to get a Social Security # before getting a bank account and driver’s license. Go Au Pair will provide a welcome packet with social security information, on the Au Pairs arrival. We advise Au Pairs to wait 10 days after arrival to get their social security number. You can make an appointment at a social security office, closest to your home.
Child-Friendly Activities for Au Pairs and Host Families
Au Pairs will find that Denver offers a wide variety of exciting things to do and places to visit. There are many historical museums, art displays, scenic touring, and physical activities. Families can help Au Pairs find activities they are most interested in.
