My favorite thing about being a LAR
My favorite thing about being a LAR is that I had a wonderful time serving as an au pair and I am excited to be a part of passing that experience along to another, as well as showcase the great city of Indianapolis.
Why I love my job
My responsibilities are to ensure that all parties involved in the Go Au Pair community have a continued positive experience. This means I will visit the home prior to the arrival of the au pair and scout out the environment to ensure that it is welcoming and comfortable. I will meet with the host families and talk about what they need to ensure that they will be satisfied with their au pair placement. After the arrival, I will contact each party (family and au pair) on a monthly basis to maintain that everyone is doing well.
My name is Nicole Sarkas and I am excited to be representing the Indianapolis area for Go Au Pair! I have been an au pair myself for 1 years here in IN and it was a great experience. I worked with a family that had two boys and I was their caregiver as well as their homeschool teacher. We traveled together all over the United States and abroad; visiting several places in Europe such as Italy, Spain, London and Scotland. Prior to this amazing job, I was living in Berkeley, CA and working at a publishing company. I am from Indiana, however, and graduated from the Herron School of Art here at IUPUI. I have a teacher’s license and have taught art classes at several schools in the city. Currently, I am raising a daughter with my husband and enjoying my new position with Go Au Pair.
