About me
My name is Josie Legg, and I’m a Local Area Representative (LAR) for Go Au Pair in the Greater Houston Area, south of I-10. I have held that position since 1988 and have had the pleasure of working with many many Au Pairs and Host Families.
My favorite thing about being a LAR
I enjoy helping the new and experienced Au Pairs and Host Families assimilate and learn the details of living together to provide quality childcare. The role of liaison, counselor, and social/cultural event planner is interesting and rewarding. Through the years I have stayed in contact with many of my former Au Pairs and Host Families, which in itself is so satisfying.
Why I love my job
I always look forward to meeting new and interesting families and Au Pairs who are currently arriving from South and Central America, Western and Central Europe and Asia. The diversity of cultures is so much fun and enlightening. I so enjoy planning events that include both Au Pairs and Host Families to help us all learn about the Greater Houston Area and all the diverse advantages. We are a happy, inclusive group. Come join us.

Julie Miner

“[Julie] is very personable and professional.”
About me
My name is Julie and I am lucky to be the Northern Houston Local Area Representative for Go Au Pair. I have been with Go Au Pair for the past 10 years and have enjoyed every minute. In 2009, I began as a LAR in Omaha, NE and moved to Northern Houston in August of 2011 where I have continued my role as a LAR. I have been married to my husband, Nathan, for almost 2 decades and we have two daughters. I graduated college from the University of Nebraska (Go Huskers!) with a degree in Human Resources and Family Science and then completed my hours for a certificate in crisis counseling. My hobbies include reading, anything having to do with water (swimming, boating, etc…), working out and traveling.
My favorite thing about being a LAR
I have always loved my job as a Local Area Representative. I feel it is a unique fit that combines my love of children, different cultures, and helping others. I also feel like I have a good insight into both roles of Host Families and Au Pairs, because I was a nanny/au pair throughout college and then we had a nanny when our children were young. I really enjoy being able to offer local support to my cluster along with providing social/cultural events.
Why I love my job
My cluster is expanding throughout Northern Houston, including (but not limited to) Katy, Cypress, The Woodlands, Spring, Conroe, and Humble. We are always looking for and recruiting new families and are offering a wonderful discount to any new Host Families in the Houston Areas.
