Thai Au Pairs
|
It is very common in Thailand for young women to work in
daycares and preschools,
which
is why our Thai Au Pairs have such a wide variety of
child care experiences. All of our Au Pairs from Thailand
currently placed in the U.S. were qualified to work with
children under the age of 2 prior to their arrival.
Education is important to Thai Au Pairs. All of our Thai Au
Pairs are college graduates. Because of this, Thai Au Pairs
are typically older than Au Pairs from other countries. The
average age of Au Pairs from Thailand when they first enter
the U.S. is 25.
While English education is compulsory in Thailand,
perfecting their English skills in one of the reasons Au
Pairs from Thailand choose to come to the U.S. instead of
other countries.

What
do Host Parents say about their Au Pairs from Thailand?
|
Rachael has been a goAUPAIR Host Mom since 2005. She has had
three Au Pairs from Thailand and her current Thai Au Pair,
Kulnaree, has been with her family for nearly 6 months.
How well did your Au Pair assimilate into your home?
"I think they assimilate well, but most Thai girls are more
reserved than Americans. So, you really need to ask
questions and spend time with them to get them to open up."
What cultural differences did you encounter?
"They are much more reserved and they aim to please. They do
not like conflict nor confrontation. I have experienced
times when my Au Pairs did not tell the truth in order to
avoid conflict."
Would you ever choose another Au Pair from Thailand?
"Yes" |
