My Host Family is Like My Real Family…

I came here all by myself, no family, no friends, no attachments and Iʼm going back with my heart filled with love, happiness, joy, experience, hope, friends and most importantly A FAMILY! My American Family is the beautiful story I lived through this whole two years.

Carine's Host Family supported her when her father passed away during her time in the Au Pair program.

The parents support me as my own parents would.

I met them first time in August 2017, and we directly connect like weʼve always known each other forever. Teresa has been a mom, an adviser, a big sister, and a confidant to me through this years, she has seen me going through all the hard time this experience can bring, and she brought all the support, presence, love, and care I could never ask for.

Steve has been a big father figure for me, and I really appreciate everything heʼs done for me. Always looking after me and making sure that Iʼm home before my curfew (Ahahaha thatʼs a little joke we had) and most importantly, that Iʼm safe wherever I go.

The kids are like my little siblings.

Rick, my little buddy, my French buddy, is really one of a kind. Heʼs so sweet, always caring and trying to be nice during situations that he wasnʼt involved, always trying to make things work, and that will always make him be such a sweet young man.

My sweet Leah, oh gosh, weʼve had our moments, sheʼs so special, and I love her for being so funny, caring, loving and always having our gossip moments. I always loved the moment weʼll both play any game and since weʼre both bad players, weʼll always fight and or cheat but then weʼll end up die laughing or the situation (haha).

And for the best Grace, my sweet little sister. From the first time we had our night out, we connected right away and laughed at some stupid situations. From our nights watching movies and crying together, to when weʼll be lost in Chicago while being really hungry her being grumpy and me couldnʼt stop laughing cause the situation was just hilarious to me, oh gosh, I could go more and more about my amazing family, just to let people know how amazing theyʼre. My little fatty mouseeeeee whoʼs always hungry and eating and acts like a dog. Loves cuddling, follows you everywhere even in the places he shouldnʼt (like the toilet ahaha) but heʼs an amazing cat. And to our beloved Patchey, who left way earlier, Iʼll never forget her.

My Host Family Supported Me When My Dad Passed.

I would give a special thank to my family for being there supporting me during one of the hardest time of my life. The passing of my dad, was really hard for me and theyʼve done such a great job. And I canʼt thank them enough for being such an amazing family. I feel loved in this family like it was my own family. And I really like the fact that people will sometimes think that Iʼm an adopted child of the family, that itself tells you how well Iʼm being treated in that family. thank you for the birthday surprises, two years in a row ahaha that was amazing! Thank you again for everything. I love you guys and can wait for our adventure in Europe next year.
