Red Sox Nation in Providence

Pawtucket Red Sox won the three-game series against the Gwinnett Braves in a windy Sunday afternoon game

As the LAR (Local Area Representative) for the Providence area cluster, it is my pleasure to offer several social and cultural events for Au Pairs and Host Families throughout the year. Last month, Host Families and Au Pairs from Boston joined us at our world-class zoo in Providence and this month, Red Sox Nation came to Pawtucket! It is an opportunity for Au Pairs to get out, see what RI has to offer and experience some all-American fun with new friends.

The day started sunny and windy and turned overcast for a while during the game, but that would not stop the Pawtucket Red Sox in their quest to beat the Gwinnett Braves from the Atlanta area. It was game three and the PawSox would not be denied the WIN! Go Au Pair Providence was there to see some great hitting and even a few home runs! We won the game 12 - 7 and the series too. Naturally, a trip to the ballpark is not complete without food! We tried the ballpark hot dogs, nachos, peanuts, fried dough, and more!

These monthly activities (or bi-monthly) are part of the Au Pair Program requirements, and Au Pairs are required to attend at least four events during their year-long placement. Host Families, who are obligated to just one event, are invited to Family Conference Days at least twice per year.

Next month, join us downtown for
Providence WaterFire, an international phenomenon, with a celebration of Rhode Island’s revolt against the British and the burning of the Gaspee.
Since we are the Ocean State, Au Pairs and Host Families will be invited to the ocean in July, specifically Misquamicut Beach, which has a great schedule of spring and summer events for those who want to visit again.

Our Au Pairs and Host Families have a unique opportunity to experience cultural exchange and the mutually beneficial childcare experiences we offer. Please visit us online and consider hosting an Au Pair to meet your family’s varied childcare needs. As always, there is no cost or obligation to you unless you match with the Au Pair candidate of your choice. We have over 300 available candidates, with several already in-country and seeking immediate placement with Host Families.
