7 Reasons to Love The ColorRun

The Kids of the Color Run 2016! Thanks to all who attended!

The Tropicolor World Tour 2016 has come to Providence and Team Go Au Pair Providence was there in full color! Even if you’re not into races or running isn’t your thing, you will love this fun annual event that comes to hundreds of cities in over 35 countries across the globe each year. Some of our Au Pairs even participate in their home countries after attending a ColorRun with their Go Au Pair cluster in the US.

Here are 7 reasons I love the ColorRun:

  1. It serves as an outstanding venue for one of our annual Family Conference Days, where Au Pairs and their Host Families are invited to join together for a fun time together. This is our 4th consecutive year participating and I hope to attend as a team for many years to come!

  2. There is plenty of free parking within walking distance or pay only $2 for up to 5 hours at the Providence Place Mall, right across the street from the start/finish line at Station Park.

  3. This is not a race!  It is a 5K (3.1 miles for us Americans still on the standard system) walk/ run. Time doesn’t matter because at such a fun event, we all win!

  4. This is good family fun! There are many strollers and children participating with parents and caregivers. Everyone is in it together and has a great time.

  5. There is a lovely atmosphere of tolerance and acceptance for all types of people. There are literally ALL COLORS! After all, it takes all kinds to make the world go round. It’s a great time for people-watching too!

  6. For those of us who normally drive through or past the city, from a walking perspective gives such wonderful views of the city. There is the mall, the State House with its Independent Man, Station Park, the WaterFire installations, the Point Street Bridge with it’s view of the I-Way and the hurricane barrier, not to mention the Providence River and art installations along the course.

  7. Lots of free swag is thrown into the crowd both at the start of the race and at the after-party at the park! We have gotten something each year, whether it be more color packets, glasses, arm bands, or bags, we never leave The ColorRun empty-handed!

What a great place to meet old and new friends, to make new traditions and just have a fun and healthy time! Thank you to the family and friends who came out to participate and cheer on Team Go Au Pair Providence! See you all next year!
