How to Become a Local Area Representative

Being a Local Area Representative is a rewarding and fun career. As a Local Area Representative, you not only represent yourself, but you are also representing your country and Go Au Pair.

Position Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self motivated, high level of initiative
  • Enjoy working with people
  • Proficient in computer and internet skills
  • Ability to work through difficult situations in a professional manner
  • Friendly and personable
  • Able to build personal relationships with Host Families and Au Pairs
  • Ability to quickly learn business procedures, rules and operational tasks
  • Be open to learning new methods of sales and marketing
  • Be able to network in their community to generate new opportunities and spread the word about our brand and the Au Pair program
  • Be able to mediate difficult situations and possess conflict-resolution skills
  • Have good communication skills and be interested in promoting cultural exchange
  • Flexibility to change work tasks as business needs change
  • Be able to respond quickly

Qualifications that are a plus, but not required:

  • Ability to speak any foreign language or otherwise have prior international experiences
  • Prior marketing and/or sales experience
  • Ability to indentify process improvements or otherwise provide suggestions for improvement
