Salvadorian Au Pairs
|
El Salvador is one of the Spanish speaking countries we
recruit Au Pairs from. English education in El Salvador
begins at a young age which is
why our Salvadorian Au Pairs placed in the U.S. received an
average ranking of 4 out of 5 on their English assessment.
Our Salvadorian Au Pairs have a wide variety of child care
experience that includes teaching and nanny positions. All
of our Au Pairs from El Salvador currently placed in the
U.S. had previous experience with children under the age of
two prior to their arrival.
Driving is common in El Salvador and all of our Salvadorian
Au Pairs currently hold a driver's license.

What
do Host Parents say about their Au Pairs from El Salvador?
|
Libbie is currently hosting her third Au Pair, Roxana, with
goAUPAIR. Roxana is from El Salvador and was a transition Au
Pair prior to beginning her placement with Libbie's family.
How well did your Au Pair assimilate into your home?
"Very well. She is enjoying the fact that DC has a large El
Salvadorian population and is having fun finding things like
tamales on the street that she couldn't find in her previous
host city. She is very outgoing and friendly in general, and
she and my husband share a common rabid love of soccer. She
insisted on rooting for El Salvador vs. the United States
when the two countries played each other in soccer."
What cultural differences did you encounter?
"She is the third Au Pair we've had from Latin America, and
since she'd already been in the country for awhile, she
hasn't seemed all that surprised by anything we've thrown
her. She didn't know how to use the toaster to toast her
bagel, but this is a minor difference."
Would you ever choose another Au Pair from
El Salvador?
"Yes." |
