This award is based on nominations sent in from Host Families around the globe which detail the many ways their Au Pair has made a positive impact on their lives.  goAUPAIR is committed to providing Host Families affordable childcare from qualified Au Pairs and Au Pairs from our agency have been internationally recognized through this award in 2009, 2005 and 2004.
Daniel: 2009 IAPA Au Pair of the Year Award Finalist
Daniel is an Au Pair from South Africa who was recognized as one of the 6 international finalists forDaniel has been recognized as a finalist for the 2009 IAPA Au Pair of the Year award the Au Pair of the Year Award in 2009. Daniel was nominated by his Host Family who said that he "exemplifies the qualities of an excellent Au Pair!" Daniel arrived in the U.S. in March of 2008 and began providing care for two boys, aged 12 and 2. In December 2008, the youngest child was diagnosed with a developmental delay in speech and Daniel began working with him each day to help develop and improve his skills. In addition to his duties as an Au Pair, Daniel volunteers at a local community group for at risk youth. "There will never be enough words to describe my time and experience here in the United States! I have to constantly remind myself that this is not a dream, but that I’m actually part of an American family and living in America."

Mariela: 2005 IAPA Au Pair of the Year Award Winner
Mariela won the Au Pair of the Year award in 2005Mariela is the 2005 winner of the Au Pair of the Year award. While in the U.S. Mariela worked with a single mother to provide care for her 10 month old daughter, Serena. During Mariela's time with her Host Family, Serena was diagnosed as profoundly deaf. "Rather than being daunted by the experience, she became excited about this new opportunity to learn another language and culture," wrote her host mom. Mariela's dedication to Serena was apparent when one of the first signs that Serena learned was Mariela's name. "My experiences as an Au Pair have helped me discover new abilities and allowed me to improve myself as an Au Pair, person, woman, daughter and sister."

Lenuta: 2004 IAPA Au Pair of the Year Award Winner
Lenuta, the 2004 Au Pair of the Year award winner, matched with a Host Family in Virginia. While there she cared for two boys,2004 IAPA Au Pair of the Year Winner: Lenuta from Romania Andrew and Lucas. Lenuta worked with her host parents as a team to help provide the best possible care for the children. "She doesn’t just love children because they are cute, but she sees them as the world’s future and treats them that way, helping them to become responsible and thoughtful individuals." Lenuta was able to identify areas of need within the home and willingly pitched in to help. "I can tell with my hand on my heart that it was a fulfilling experience and it's still an understatement! I'm very grateful for what I've accomplished and what I've become. I consider myself blessed."
