We would like to nominate our Au Pair, Claudia Carolina, for the Au Pair of the Year Award!!!

My wife and I are extremely happy with Carolina and that she has agreed to stay on with us for an additional year! Having her in our home has been truly a blessing and a joy. She is such a loving and fun person that relates extremely well to our children, and is very understanding of their adolescent mood swings and personality quirks. When my wife is on the Alaskan North Slope for work, we really rely on her heavily and she takes her responsibility very seriously. She is a wonderful communicator especially when there is an issue with the children or the household that needs addressing. We really appreciate this, instead of her just glossing over it. The three of us will sit down and have a very in-depth discussion and together come up with a game plan. Because of this, we have seen great improvement with the children and within the household itself.

We love the fact that she has really become a part of our family. She is very easy and fun to have around. We like the fact that she participates in family activities with us and attends the children’s activities, even on her own time! We have taken her with us on vacations, other adventures, the children have even gotten her to do things that she was afraid of, is a delight to bring along and is always willing to offer a helping hand. My wife especially likes the fact that after she goes out with her friends, she will come in and have a ‘girl talk’ and tell my wife all about everything that happened, just like my wife was her mom. This makes my wife feel very special and loved by Carolina.

Carolina has the children’s schedule really organized, which helps them to feel secure, confident and successful. As a matter of fact, since Carolina’s arrival, the children have improved their grades and all are on the Honor Roll. Carolina even helps my wife stay organized when she is off the North Slope and assists everyone with any special projects that we may have going on. We also appreciate the fact that she is very educated and articulate, particularly in Spanish. She has helped the children to improve their Spanish many times over, that they are years ahead of other children in their classes, which is something that is very important to us. She has also become a really good cook and plans most of the family’s meals which the children really enjoy!

With an Au Pair, you never really know what you are getting until they are in your home (and the same goes for them with a family), so it means a lot to us that she is a person of high moral standing and values. She is level-headed, mature and makes good decisions even when she is not on the clock. We appreciate that she is a good role-model for our two daughters to look to and has become just like an older sister to them.

We are sure there is much more we could say about Carolina and why we are so happy she has chosen to extend her stay with us, why we are glad she did and the reason we feel that Carolina should receive the Au Pair of the Year Award.
