France is our feature country for the month of March. With a population of over 65 billion people, France is well known for its tourist attractions and cuisine. Paris is by far the major urban center and is the most-visited city in the world! According to the Paris tourism office, the capital welcomed 15.1 million international travelers in 2010.
To get a better insight into our
French Au Pairs, we talked to Valerie Daviaud, Go Au Pair’s International Representative in France. She said French Au Pairs are driven to come to the United Stated to practice and to improve their English skills while sharing some of their own culture and language. Since food plays a major role in the country and its people, French Au Pairs are really good at preparing healthy and traditional foods from France.
Valerie also said that she personally makes sure all her French Au Pair candidates are prepared for the experience, “We pay real attention to screening the girls, because if I feel a girl is not mature enough to travel so far and for so long I prefer to tell her the truth to avoid any problems in the future. It is very important for me to make sure the girls are well prepared psychologically”
