Last year, there was a 34 percent increase in the number of U.S. Visas processed for Chinese applicants. This is more evidence to show that the U.S.–China relationship is becoming evermore important as the two economies are becoming more and more intertwined.
U.S. Ambassador Gary Locke, in October of last year said in a
press release, “The U.S.-China relationship is profoundly important, and welcoming Chinese visitors to the United States strengthens our cultural and commercial ties.”
The U.S. is encouraging more Visas to be given to Chinese applicants and asking they be valid for longer periods of time. The U.S. Embassy in China is also working on cutting down Visa interview wait times.
This is good news for
Host Families looking for Au Pairs from China, one of our most popular countries. Nearly 16 percent of all the Au Pairs placed through
Go Au Pair are Chinese.
In general,
Chinese Au Pairs are family- and education-oriented, which are desirable qualities to U.S. Host Families. Many Chinese applicants receive child care experience through babysitting, working at daycare centers, teaching children, and caring for siblings.
