"I like to be an au pair because I wanted to see something new and experience something new. Furthermore I would like to help raise your children, get to know their way of living and culture and tell them something about my culture and home. It will help me to gain more experience in my life, get to know new people, to see how it is to live in America and one of the most important reasons for me to do this step, I love children and I really like to work with them."

A variety of Au Pair options to meet your child care needs

A variety of options exist to meet your basic child care, scheduling and budgetary needs:
  • Infant specialization to adolescent age group experience
  • Babysitting to prior U.S. Au Pair experience
  • Part time (30 hours per week) to full time (45 hours per week) work schedules

  • Price variations to meet your budget

Standard Au Pairs are the most popular and satisfy the needs of most Host Families. They work up to 45 hours per week, are paid the standard stipend amount and fulfill the standard educational requirement. Standard Au Pairs in their home country are available for a full year commitment and have a variety of qualifications.

Infant Qualified Au Pairs
are required for families with children under the age of two. They have at least 200 hours of documented child care experience caring for children under the age of two and one of their child care references is from a family whose infant was cared for by the applicant. There is no additional cost for infant qualified Au Pairs.

EduCare Au Pairs are a great option for families looking for part-time care or with school aged children. EduCare Au Pairs provide up to 30 hours of child care per week, receive a stipend amount which is less than the standard rate and fulfill an additional educational requirement.

Transition Au Pairs are ideal for families who need child care in the near future and/or are looking for a shorter commitment. They are already in the U.S. looking for a new family and are typically available to come to your home within 2 weeks. Transition Au Pairs have less than one year remaining on their visa and may have the option to extend for additional time.

Extension Transfer Au Pairs are finishing their first year with their current family and are looking to stay in the U.S. with a new family for either 6, 9 or 12 months. These Au Pairs are familiar with life in the U.S. including living with an American family, caring for American children, driving in the U.S. and learning English. Extension transfer Au Pairs are sometimes paid a stipend greater than the standard amount.

Plus and Premiere Au Pairs distinguish themselves from standard applicants through child care experience, driving experience, education and age. Plus Au Pairs have prior Au Pair experience working in another country outside the U.S. Premiere Au Pairs are at least 20 years old, have at least 6 months of driving experience and have at least 2 years full time child care experience or a degree in a child care related field. Both Plus and Premiere Au Pairs receive a stipend greater than the standard amount.

Au Pair Again Au Pairs have prior Au Pair experience working in the U.S., spent two years out of the country and are available to work for an American family. These returning Au Pairs still meet all standard Au Pair requirements (including age) and are paid a stipend greater than the standard amount because of their additional experience.

Pre-Match Au Pairs are Au Pair candidates who are not currently available with Go Au Pair and who are already chosen by a Host Family. Pre-Match Au Pairs are no different from any other Au Pair and must pass the same screening, must be sponsored by a designated agency, and must place with a Host Family who also meets requirements. Families wishing to match with a Pre-Match Au Pair should contact our agency as soon as possible so the candidate can begin the application process.
