Au Pairs and Host Family Schedules

Au Pair can provide you with flexible child care

The only thing that is constant is change – Especially for families! A soccer game on Wednesday, a dance practice on Thursday, and a piano lesson on Tuesday can sometimes be overwhelming. It seems our schedules are filling up and changing faster than ever before.

As families struggle to find the time to accomplish all the tasks before them, many are looking for ways to make their lives a little easier. Many families have found that an Au Pair is a great way to help solve their ever changing schedules.

“I wanted more flexibility with hours that worked for me, not just the daycare hours.”

Au Pairs provide families the unique flexibility that allows for changing schedules. With an Au Pair, families can change their schedules on a weekly basis if needed. The only requirement for families is to provide Au Pairs the next week’s schedule in writing. This rule set by the department of state, allows families and Au Pairs to communicate effectively regarding their schedules and any potential conflicts.

Families also enjoy the flexibility of a fluid schedule when it comes to working late. Many day care centers charge late fees if you are late picking up your child. If you have multiple children then the fee is usually multiplied by the number of children. With an Au Pair, the only thing parents have to worry about is making sure their Au Pair doesn’t pass the 45 hours per week work limit.

Whether you want to avoid being nickel and dimed for late fees, sick day fees and others, or you just need the ability to change your schedule on a weekly basis an Au Pair may be the right solution for you.
