Who are Au Pairs?

If you love an adventure and are great with children, the Au Pair program is for you. Au Pairs love meeting new people and experiencing new things. Maybe your dream is to live in the U.S., maybe it’s studying in a U.S. University or maybe it’s to improve your English. As an Au Pair, you enjoy the experience of a lifetime living with a Host Family, speaking English and being able to study in an American University.

Au Pairs who enjoy the program the most also like experiencing and sharing culture. Experience the U.S. culture firsthand as you live with an American Host Family. In addition, you have the opportunity to share your culture, traditions and food with your Host Family.

What is the Au Pair Program?

The Au Pair program makes your Au Pair experience possible. The program is a cultural exchange experience through child care and is regulated by the U.S. Department of State. Designated agencies, like Go Au Pair, offer the only legal way for Au Pairs to travel to the U.S. All designated agencies enforce the rules and regulations set forth by the Department of State. Participating Host Families and Au Pairs must follow these regulations.

What is Au Pair Child Care?

Au Pair child care is a cultural experience through full time live-in child care. Cultural exchange is the foundation of the Au Pair program. Host Families welcome an Au Pair from another country into their home and learn about another culture from their Au Pair. As an Au Pair, you have the chance to learn about life in the U.S. while exploring the country, attending classes and immersing yourself in the English language. As an Au Pair in America, you play an important role within your Host Family. You are not just a housekeeper or a nanny, but a part of the family.
